How to read a recipe
Hidden units, quantities, conditions and merge tiers, and what each part of a unit page tells you.
Hidden units
Lottery Defence lets you merge units into stronger ones. The hidden units are the merges the game does not list. This site covers the 57 hidden recipes of version 10.5 as published on bunnybox.net, in six groups: Terran Bio, Terran Mech, Protoss Bio, Protoss Mech, Zerg, and Neutral & Hybrid.
One recipe
Take
Dominion Marauder. Its page shows two ingredients: 2×
Tauren Space Marine and 3×
Hammer Security.
- The number is how many of that unit go into the merge.
- A yellow tag such as SS+ or Burrowed is a condition on that one ingredient:
Tauren Space Marine takes 2×
Warmonger SS+, meaning both Warmongers must be rank SS or better. All conditions are listed under Ranks & conditions. - Each ingredient is either a base ingredient, which has no hidden recipe and is obtained the ordinary way, or another hidden unit, shown with its tier.
Tiers
The tier is the merge depth. A tier 1 unit is built from base ingredients only; a tier 3 unit needs at least one tier 2 unit, which needs a tier 1 unit, and so on. Base ingredients are tier 0. The deepest chains end in these units:
Amon
Spear of Adun
The Last Dominator (tier 6)
What a unit page shows
- Recipe
- the ingredients, as above.
- Feeds into
- the hidden units that use this one. This is what you keep it for.
- Merge tree
- the whole recipe opened up, down to the base ingredients. Each branch folds away.
- Everything it takes
- the base ingredients multiplied down the tree, and the number of merges. Worth a look before committing to a top-tier unit.
- In the older list
- the recipe from an older build, when it had one.
Planning a chain
The chain pages draw each group left to right, base ingredients first. Hover or focus a unit there to light up everything it needs and everything it feeds. That answers “what should I be saving?”, which a flat list does not.
Special cases
- Some ingredients are spawned by another unit: the
Auto Turrets for
Swann come from a
Raven, the
Spider Mines for a
Widow Mine from a Vulture.
Sentinel and
Centurion have the same ingredients, 2×
Dark Templar. The rank decides which you get: SS gives a Sentinel, SSS a Centurion.
Arch Fighter: the Merge Pad must be off. The older list says this avoids making Odins.
3x Drone yields three Drones.- Units that exist only in the mod have no StarCraft II art. They get a placeholder icon with a dashed outline, like
Garbage.
